She was asked to work as photographer for the Texas Hill Country Wine & Food Festival where she had a chance conversation with Andre & Dorothy Tchelicheff, who recognized & inspired her passion for wine. After moving to San Francisco in 1994 she was asked by a friend to photograph and help out at a new event called Oregon Pinot Camp, where she was immersed in the whole process from viticulture to blending, and barrel toasting to stemware, and everything in between. She was hooked and incidentally both events have since become highly successful, and both brought Elizabeth back full circle to her love for all things wine-related. In 2008, at the encouragement of many friends who knew she was passionate and knowledgeable about wine, she decided to pursue a dream and finally return to the wine industry again, this time in sales vs. the buying side. She met Shannon Burke at a vineyard specific tasting event, and has rekindled a career, giving her the opportunity to advance her knowledge further & use her sales and marketing savvy from the advertising world in conjunction with her love for wine. She resides in the quiet neighborhood of Potrero Hill where the sun always shines! Kate Omweg-Office Manager Kate was born and raised in Northern California and earned a bachelors degree in molecular biology at UC Santa Cruz. She now lives in Livermore, CA with her husband and three kids. Kate and her husband are wine enthusiasts and enjoy living in and visiting the Bay Area's wine regions. She recently joined the team at BWB and is very excited to be a part of such a dynamic and forward thinking group.

Shannon Burke-Owner
After graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2000, Shannon worked the harvest at Picchetti Winery. At Picchetti she had the opportunity to work in all aspects of winemaking from the vineyard to the bottle. After harvest she stayed on at Picchetti Winery as the event planner. In addition to event planning, she assisted in marketing, and sold the wines to restaurants and retailers from the South Bay to Monterey. Shannon enjoyed outsides sales and took a posititon as a District Sales Manager for ADP. After 2 years selling employer services Shannon missed the wine industry and in 2004 went to work for a start up wine company called Row Eleven. She helped with production, assisted the National Sales Manager, sold private labeled wines, and managed California Sales. Working with brokers as the California Sales Manager gave Shannon an inside perspective on being a broker as well as understanding the needs of a growing wine company. Shannon started Burke Wine Brokerage February 2008 and has enjoyed the work and time that goes into doing something she loves. She has been very fortunate to find small wineries that produce amazing wines and a wonderful team of people to work with.
